Tabor Home Open Thru Jan. 1
The Tabor Home is celebrating the holidays by having a special winter tour from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. daily thru Tuesday, Jan. 1.
The Tabor Home is located at 116 E. 5th Street in downtown Leadville and is all decked out in its yuletide attire.
“We hope people come by, because a lot of people haven’t seen the Tabor Home, or they haven’t seen it for years, said Leadville Judge Neil Reynolds. And, he added, it’s not a very big home so the tour shouldn’t take long!
This was the first Leadville home of Horace and his first wife, Augusta and was moved from Harrison Avenue to East 5th Street in 1879 to make room for Tabor’s opera house.
The property is presently owned and operated by the City of Leadville. During the summer, the Tabor Home operates as a museum, providing daily tours.
