Primary Election Results

June 26 – Here are today’s primary election results for Lake County. CLICK to see FULL results. The short story, since there were not many contested races, is that Padraic Smith (419) garnered more votes than Jill Stamps (157) to earn the spot on the Democratic ticket for Lake County Treasurer in November’s Election. Smith will run against Republican Roy McGinnis (127) who is currently Leadville’s City Treasurer.

And in other Lake County results, Debra Irvine (83) edged out David Justice (60) for the Republican Candidate in the newly formed State House District 61. Democratic Incumbent Rep. Millie Hamner racked up 408 votes from Lake County. Hamner ran unopposed in the primary. Robert Petrowsky, with the American Constitution Party, also running in District 61, did not receive any votes in the Lake County Primary Election. Of course the final determination of whose name will appear on the November Ballot will be determined when all of the votes from the newly formed district have been tallied.   Those reports should be available tomorrow.
