Grab Your Longboard and Blaze The Belt!

The 5th Annual Blaze The Belt will be held in Leadville on Saturday, September 15. This annual longboarding competition is a time trial event held on the Mineral Belt Trail. While the main competition involves longboards, there will be alternate class divisions which can include a luge, rollerblades, or the ever-sporty razor scooter.

The entry fee is $20. Registration begins at 9 a.m. on Sept. 15 at the Tennessee Pass Café (TPC) at 222 Harrison Ave. in downtown Leadville. The time trial will begin at 1 p.m. followed by the slide competition and the new-this-year: The Slalom.

Helmets and pads and spray on skin in a can are recommended for riders. Cash and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category. The after party will be held at the TPC and feature live music by locals’ favorite: Leadville Cherokee.
