Avalanche Workshop Friday at Mining Museum

The Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC) is proud to announce the 11th annual Colorado Snow and Avalanche Workshop (CSAW). CSAW 2012 is a 1-day professional development event for snow and avalanche professionals. The meeting will be held on Friday, October 19 at the National Mining Hall of Fame. In addition to the CAIC, the meeting is co-sponsored by the Friends of the CAIC and The Summit Foundation.

It was Standing-Room-Only at last year’s  Colorado Snow and Avalanche Workshop at Leadville’s Mining Museum. This year’s event is Friday, Oct. 19

CSAW provides a venue for avalanche workers to listen to presentations on new ideas, techniques and technologies for snow and avalanche safety. The meeting is intended for ski patrollers, avalanche forecasters, road maintenance personnel, ski guides, avalanche instructors, undergraduate and graduate students, and applied researchers, but the meeting is open to any interested in the subject.

Registration Information: The cost of the 1-day workshop is $25 for pre-registered attendees and $40 at the door. Pre-registration ended Monday, however, registration will be available at the door on Friday 7:30-8:15 am.
