Entrants will be judged on their creativity, costumes and enthusiasm in portraying the cultures that have been instrumental in coinciding with Bringing Back Christmas! There will be hay rides on Harrison Ave. starting a 4 p.m. with a $3 suggested donation. The money raised will be used to purchase future holiday lighting for Harrison Ave.

The parade begins promptly at 5:30 p.m.  Entrants are requested to arrive between 5 – 5:30 p.m. for line-up along the south side of W. 9th Street.

Santa Clause will be grand marshal for the Annual Parade of Lights and will visit with children at the Lake County Courthouse afterward. There will be hot cocoa and cookies for all thanks to the generosity of Peoples National Bank and Safeway. This year, Aardvark Technologies and Leadville Ski Country are generously  providing a gift from Santa for the children. There will be Christmas Karaoke at the courthouse provided by Singer’s Choice.

There will also be a “Best Dressed Harrison Avenue” window contest with the champion receiving a traveling prize for their business until next year’s Annual Parade of Lights. The public has voted and the trophy will be presented to the winning business tonight.

Contact the Chamber of Commerce at (719) 486-3900 for more information or to sign up as a parade entrant or volunteer.
