SLAM-DUNK Success at the Elks Hoop Shoot

The Leadville Elks Hoop Shoot was held on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Lake County High School. According to Hoop Shoot Organizer Bunny Taylor, thirty-three (33) local kids competed for trophies, certificates, basketball jerseys and a chance to move on to the Elks District Hoop Shoot.

The “Hoop Shoot” program provides a constructive, character-building experience for young people who participate. The program allows competition with peers, free from outside influence of parents, coaches, or teammates. It teaches young people the importance of developing individual skills.

Congratulations to all the competitors and to the volunteers and Leadville Elks Lodge #236 for putting on a great family-fun event. Good luck to all the shooters moving on to District competition!Results_Hoop_Shoot_2012
