Cajun Band Kicks Off Art Opening Tonight
Why not start off the first night of the second month with a Cajun jitterbug and some abstract photography? If this sounds good to you, then head on over to City on A Hill Coffee and Espresso in downtown Leadville tonight for some live music to celebrate a new art opening.
Photographer Diane Eberhardt is hosting her photography show opening, featuring black and white abstractions of nature, something that hasn’t quite been done at the coffee shop yet. The show will be up for two months.
But to really kick things off there’s a Pre-Marti Gras Party tonight (Friday, Feb. 1) featuring the live music of the Gumbo Jets, a traditional Cajun/Zydeco Dancin’ Band. The fun starts at 6:30 p.m. with some Gunbo, followed by some Cajun Dance Lessons at 7 p.m. and a full-on Cajun get down from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. It’s sure to be packed, so get their early!
