Local Officer Fundraiser Set for Saturday @ Eagles

The buzz and promotion of Valentine’s Day is fully underway. But if you’re tired of the same old wine and roses, and want to do something that is truly about LOVE, then READ ON!

The Lake County Law Enforcement family has put together a fundraiser event to assist local officer Grant Williams. “Operation: Unite” to be held this Saturday, Feb. 16.

Williams is a Lake County Deputy and US Army Reserve Veteran, father of two beautiful girls and dedicated husband. On December 28, 2012 he checked into a hospital with abdominal pain. On Jan. 9, 2013 it was confirmed he had Desmoplastic Cancer.

Grant Williams has served with great dedication and professionalism at the Lake County Sheriff’s Office since October 17, 2011. He is a US Army veteran since April 2000 and is currently with the US Army Reserve. Contributions can be made locally at First Mountain Bank “Benefit for Grant Williams” or call 719-486-3150.

Operation unite will be held Saturday, Feb. 16 at the Eagles Lodge (815 Hemlock Street) starting at 4 p.m. with a silent auction, live auction, 50/50 Raffle, and a bake sale. Later dinner will be served and there will be music by the CMC Jazz Band. From 8 p.m. – midnight the dance will get rocking to the tunes of DJ Omar. The cost is $15 for adults and $5 for kids, under 6 years are free.
