You grab a line and I’ll grab a pole, meet you down at the 16th Annual Twin Lakes Ice Fishing Derby sponsored by The Leadville Rod and Gun Club on February 16 and 17, honey, baby, mine!

Well, the song may not go quite that way, but for 186 fishermen, women and children, that was their tune as they competed for over $4,000 in cash and prizes last weekend.

This was a year of transition for the event as a new group of LRGC members took to the helm, replacing longtime organizers Larry and Sandy Mason who moved up north the middle of last year. The weekend ran smoothly with only a few bumps along the way, like when the Cookies With Altitude food tent lifted up and nearly carried folks away!
