East Side Epic Marks Last Winter Race This Saturday

The Leadville Winter Mountain Bike Series will wrap up their race season this Saturday, April 13 with the popular East Side Epic, a 12-mile tour of Leadville’s historic Mining District. Registration and check-in is at Cycles of Life, 309 Harrison Ave. in Downtown Leadville.

Then head up to the top of (700) East 8th Street and Ash for the race start at 10 a.m. While course conditions are always a mix this time of year, the recent snow assures this will be another EPIC race!

The East Side Epic Awards Ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. at the Leadville Elks Lodge at 123 West 5th Street. But come early at Noon for the BBQ! 

Bike_Frame_WheelersThe race is hosted by the Cloud City Wheelers, who are also selling raffle tickets for a custom crafted frame-set valued at $2,500. Tickets are $5.00 each and can be purchased at  Cycles of Life bike shop, and City on a Hill coffee shop. The raffle will be held at the awards ceremony at the Elks.  **Must be present to win**

This rapidly growing-in-popularity race series occur throughout the winter in and around Leadville. Utilizing groomed nordic ski trails and snowmobile trails, these races are a great way for cycling enthusiasts to keep riding and racing during the off-season. Two of the races are even held at night! A typical course is 12 miles with a mix of spine-tingling conditions. The races always end with plenty of tasty food and beverages, laughter and dang good times. Come on up and enjoy the ride!

WheelersThe Cloud City Wheelers, who host the entire Winter Mountain Bike Race Series are a Leadville club dedicated to providing bicycle activities to promote individual health and recreation.
