69 Racers “Lap The Lake” Last Saturday

Blue skies and warm weather greeted 69 finishers in the Lap the Lake race sponsored by the Lake County Recreation department this past Saturday, June 22. The race course begins and ends at the Lake County Middle School parking lot, with racers making a full lap (or more) around nearby Turquoise Lake in between.Lap The Lake, lying down! Overall top male in the 1 Lap Race was Andy Bedard from Arvada in 1:03:38 followed by David Martine from Arvada also in 1:07:39. Top female riders were Faith Clauson from Boulder in 1:14:14 followed by Jeanie Willis from Colorado Springs in 1:22:07.69 racers competed in the local race. Photo: Becky Thompson.
In the 3 Lap Race overall winners were: Nick Traggis of Boulder in 2:14:30 with Wade Newsom of Carbondale in 2:14:39 then Gregory Strokes of Aspen in 2:15:11. The top 3 females were: Amy Bertsch of Colorado Springs in 2:44:15 with Sara Kadlec of Boulder in 2:44:41 then Sabina Kuss of Durango in 2:56:43.
