New Leadville Art Gallery’s Grand Opening TONIGHT!
Leadville has a strong artists’ community. Painters. Sculptors. Jewelry Makers. Photographers. They have gather formally at various Leadville Arts Coalition events and informally for many years at art studios and around kitchen tables.
But until now, it’s been challenging to find a place to display and sell their work. Welcome Leomyka Gallery, located at 601 Harrison Avenue in downtown Leadville. And tonight the new art gallery will celebrate its Grand Opening from 5 – 9 p.m. with complimentary wine and cheese. So be sure to stop in and see your friends and neighbors work.
“We wanted to start with our local talent because there’s just so much of it,” said Gallery Manager Rachel Ackerman. “It’s nice to have a showcase for them.”Gallery Manager Rachel Ackerman(l) with Gallery Owner Bill Comcowich (r), with his mother Margarette Comcowich (c). Photo Sue Jewell
She also noted some well-known locals who will have their work on display: Photographer Angie Welsh, Painter/Sculptor Terry Ryan, Artist Art Dupont and Jeweler Erin McCracken, to name a few.
“We believe in Leadville, we believe in art. Our goal is to promote both of them,” it is stated on the Leomyka Gallery website.
If you or an artist you know is interested in displaying work at Leomyka, please contact Ackerman at 719-486-3883 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Starting July 4, the Leomyka Gallery will be open seven days a week. Check the website for additional information: LINK.
