Course Records Set at Marathon/Heavy Half
When people talk about a dozen, it’s usually eggs or donuts, but yesterday it was all about seconds. Twelve was certainly race winner Jay Thomson’s lucky number as he shaved that many seconds off the Lifetime Fitness Leadville Marathon course record yesterday with a finish time of 3:37:07.38. This was the 14th year for the Marathon and year number 8 for the Heavy Half.
In other course-record news, Heavy Half Marathon winner David Roche shaved a full 8 minutes off the previous course record, in addition to being the first racer to break 2 hours with a time of 1:58:03:34.
