 It’s Yes to Canty, School 3A, No to ALL City Issues

There weren’t many surprises for most voters when it came to this November 5 election. VotedCounty-wide, 1,720 of a possible 4,981 voters (34.53%) weighed in on the issues.

So here is the break down on local races and ballot issues, as well as how local voters weighed in on state issues. Links to Official Numbers and Results are at the end of this post.

Leadville City Council, Ward One

Mike Canty – 133 (70.37%)

Steve Prestash – 56 (29.63%)

Other Leadville City Council results include the addition of Gwen Shepherd, who ran an unopposed race for Ward Two and tallied 143 (62.17%) votes. Additionally, the Leadville City Council will make an appointment to the other seat vacated in Ward One. In Ward Three, incumbent and unopposed candidate Max Duarte received 175 (67.05%) votes.

Yes – 250 (35.36%)

No – 457 (64.64%)

Leadville Ballot (Tax) Issue 2B

Yes – 245 (33.56%)

No – 485 (66.44%)

Yes – 342 (47.90%)

No – 372 (52.10%)

Leadville Ballot (Street District) Issue 2D

Yes – 223 (30.63%)

No – 505 (69.37%)

Leadville City Treasurer (unopposed)

Roy McGinnis  – 486 (65.59%)

Lake County School District R-1

School Board: Two Seats (unopposed)

Amy Frykholm – 1,094 (61.70%)

Harmony Jump – 679 (38.30%)

Yes – 862 (50.83%)

No –  834 (49.17%)

District No. 1 (unopposed)

Charles L. Cunnliffe – 963 (55.99%)

Amendment 66 – Education Tax

Statewide this measure failed. Here’s how the numbers came in among Lake County voters:

Yes – 598 (35.05%)

No –   1,108 (64.95%)

Proposition AA – Marijuana Tax

Statewide this measure passed. Here’s how the numbers looked among Lake County voters: 

Yes – 1,021 (60.09%) 

No –   678 (39.91%)
