Get Er Done – Turquoise Lake Road Almost Open!

According to Lake County Road and Bridge: as of Friday, May 2, County Road 9C is now open! This is the part of the road on the east side of the lake. County Roads 4 & 9 around Turquoise Lake might be open in a week or so. The V-blade has gone all the way around, now they just need to widen it for traffic. There is still a lot of snow in some places so it will be slow going. GREAT JOB GUYS!

Tuesday Election Important for Water, Health Care

May came in with a bang for The Cloud City: CMC graduation, Kentucky Derby fundraisers, movie premieres, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, and the list goes on for an action-packed weekend of fun. Perhaps it’s all a sign of the busy summer season, just around the corner.govote-copy copy
But tomorrow there is an event which will have lasting effects for Leadville and Lake County on a daily basis. Tuesday, May 6 is the special, off-season election to appoint who will be making the decisions and policies concerning water and health care.

Parkville Water District and St. Vincent General Hospital District will hold elections in the Lake County Courthouse from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Be sure to bring proper ID for proof of residency within each district – your driver’s license or other state issued identification should do the job. Each district will have a separate ballot, but it shouldn’t take too long to cast your vote. Here are the candidates:
