New Web Cam on Historic Harrison Avenue
Are you missing the Harrison Avenue web cam? Ever since the camera at the former Bill’s Sport Shop went dark, readers have been wishing for another downtown Leadville web cam.
For those who used to live here, it’s nice to virtually visit one of Colorado’s most famous main streets. For locals, it’s nice to know what the weather’s doing at 10,200 feet. No doubt, that old web cam was the lifeline to what was happening – in live time – in downtown Leadville.
Well, wishes have been granted! Thanks to the historic Tabor Grand restoration project, slated to begin any day, there is now another web camera scanning the main street of America’s Highest City.
It seems that the Neenan Archistruction company in charge of the project, put the camera in place to remotely keep an eye on the progress being made to the building. And in today’s world, the best, most cost effective way to do that is through technology.
So, if you haven’t seen it already, there’s a sizeable camera that has been mounted high above the Manhattan Bar building at 7th & Harrison. It’s a pretty cool, high-tech device that allows viewers to not only see the Tabor Grand, but you can control the device and adjust the view up and down Harrison Ave.
Leadville Today went on a mission to discover the camera’s LINK and share it with readers. So here you go, get your fill.
Let’s just hope all the interest doesn’t crash the connection . . . . .
