Leadville Flame Soccer Team Win Big at Home

The Leadville Flame Soccer Team defeated the Wheat Ridge Avalanche Gold 8-2 on Saturday, May 3. And followed up with a 2-0 win over the Colorado Ice the next day, May 4.

The Flame are now playing in the Advanced Challenge Metro League, where they compete against many of the top club teams from the front range.

“The competition has been awesome, we have beaten the 40th and 42nd ranked teams in the state” said coach Kevin Cannell. The Flame are 4-0-1 on the season with three games left to play.

The Flame continue to prove themselves as an impressive team from a 3A sized community who’s winning big against 5A level competition.

Their next two games are at home this Saturday and Sunday, May 10 $& 11 at the Community Park in Leadville. Saturday’s kick-off is at 9 o’clock in the morning; on Sunday, the game gets underway at 1p.m. The Flame will be taking on two Colorado Rapids developmental teams.
