Workforce Center Offers FREE Business Seminars
The Leadville Workforce Center has a couple of upcoming seminars which will be helpful to both employers and employees. So, take advantage of these FREE sessions to brush up on your knowledge of the local labor market.
This week marks the 50th Anniversary of Civil Rights Act, so it only seems appropriate that speaker Patricia McMahon will discuss how this legislation can affect your business’ bottom line. On Wednesday, Sept. 24 from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Climax Building at Colorado Mountain College, Patricia McMahon will present on the technical aspects concerning Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) policies and procedures. From dangerous words and excuses, to unconscious bias in the workplace, find out what the implications are for your business.
“Patricia McMahon was here several years ago and it was a successful training session,” said Kim Rodriquez, Leadville Workforce Center. “Now she is bringing some new information to businesses, to protect them and their staff, as well as their bottom line.”
Sexual harassment, racism and hostile work environments can be so destructive for everyone involved. This seminar is a proactive effort at educating people about the Civil Rights Act and marking its 50th Anniversary. Refreshments will be served in celebration.
Then, one week later, on Wednesday, Oct. 1 the Leadville Workforce Center presents “Workforce Intelligence at Your Fingertips!” Ever wonder how to attract qualified job candidates or why some of the labor force travels over the hill? Well, knowledge is power!
