Veterans Receive Special Tuition Rates at CMC
Today is Veterans Day, Nov. 11, a day to honor those who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Colorado Mountain College supports both veterans and active-duty military by offering to them and their dependents its affordable in-district tuition rates, regardless of residency. The discounted rate applies to CMC’s online courses, as well as at the college’s 11 campuses and learning locations throughout its service area.CMC: Easing the transition from combat to classroom. In 2012, college trustees approved this special tuition rate to honor U.S. veterans and active-duty military, and their families. The rate is equal to the college’s in-district tuition, which is currently $57 to $139 per credit depending on the course level and program. Veterans and military benefits such as the Post-9/11 GI Bill may be used to pay for the reduced tuition. The rate applies to veterans and active-duty military, plus their spouses and dependents under the age of 23.
To further support members of the military, Colorado Mountain College has two veteran liaisons – Christina Pagano at Spring Valley and A.J. Gentile at Leadville, two of the college’s three residential campuses. Both liaisons provide support for student veterans, connecting them to resources at the college as well as in the community.
