Good Times Await at Dutch Henri Sled Hill . . . for FREE!
A day spent at Dutch Henri Sledding and Tubing Hill is a fun, yet rigorous outside activity. This sled hill has developed into an adventurous, somewhat directed series of hook shoots that get the riders and the crowd hollering out for good time winter fun, big moves, and yes, the occasional crash.
And be advised, that Leadville/Lake County still makes you get to the top the old-school way, so be ready to huff it, up to several “put in” points. The higher you go, the bigger the reward!
If you bring your own tube, it’s FREE at Dutch Henri Hill. But you can also rent tubes there on Saturday and Sundays from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. (weather permitting)! Tube Rentals are $7/hour (non resident) or $5/hour (resident with ID). And if the kids are under 18, they need to have a waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian.
Riders may also use a plastic sled – break out the flying saucers! However, toboggans and sleds with metal runners are prohibited. To access the sled hill, enter from the bottom area, using the parking area off Highway 24 south of Leadville by the turn-off past McWethy Drive.
