Hospital Board Votes For Centura Partnership
The St. Vincent Hospital Board of Directors voted to take next steps negotiating a potential partnership with Centura Health at a special meeting of the board on January 8.
The board has heard proposals from Centura Health, Swedish Health with Rotella Holdings and New Journey Healthcare outlining their participation for preventing the imminent closure of the hospital.
Updates will be available at regular board meetings and on the hospital website. The next regular meeting of the hospital board is Thursday, Jan. 22 at 5:15 p.m. in the hospital conference room.
Background: St. Vincent Hospital Board of Directors adopted a timeline for closure on November 8, 2014 after an unsuccessful campaign to raise the mill-levy for the hospital district. Since that time the board and administrator have requested and received inquiries and proposals from investors and large hospital groups that are interested in working to preserve the hospital. A promise of fiscal support has also been received from the Lake County Commissioners. The original timeline for final closure was set for March 31, 2015.
