The Lake County Board of County Commissioners is seeking entrants to compete for the best entry way sign in Lake County.

Winners of the competition will receive a $500 reward and see their design used as the signs that drivers will see as they enter Lake County from Highways 24, 91 and 82. The Contest will be open from May 7, 2015 until May 29, 12015 at 5 p.m. Entries are to be sent or delivered to the Board of Commissioners, PO Box 964, Leadville, CO 80461.

Any questions can be directed to Commissioner Mike Bordogna at mbordogna@co.lake.co.us . Entries will be judged by the public at a meeting to be held on the evening of June 2, 2015 in the commissioner’s room in the Lake County Courthouse.

Criteria below: Signs will be produced on a 3’x4’ metal blank sign with a vinyl overlay- by Lake County

  • Must say “Lake County”
  • May have words such as, “Welcome, Have a great day, Leadville, Twin Lakes, etc.” but no invented slogans
  • May have pictures, drawings or other artwork in foreground or background
  • One entry per person will be allowed
  • Must be able to be submitted in an EPS file format.
