Community Market Returns Aug. 22 thru Sept 19
Attention all vendors! Attention area farmers, gardeners and keepers of chickens! The Leadville Community Market wants YOU!
The Leadville Community Market (LCM) is still on for this summer, albeit with a slightly shorter run this year. The LCM will be held on Saturdays from August 22 thru September 19. The market will be in the same location, in the First Mountain Bank parking lot from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
The LCM organizers are now accepting applications for full and part-time vendors. This weekly market features goods and services from local residents and companies. Market organizers welcome all vendors from jewelry makers, craftspeople, artists, musicians, face-painters, and all other kinds of sellers of goods! The popular “Community Table,” where local gardeners & chicken keepers can sell their products for a small fee, will return again with fresh goodies. Any local groups or organizations wanting to participate in the kids zone should contact organizers.
Leadville Dog Park Committee Meets July 22
Local efforts to bring an official dog park to Leadville continue to move forward. The Leadville Dog Park Committee’s next meeting will be held Wednesday, July 22. The group will meet at 6 p.m. in the Commissioner’s room at the Lake County Courthouse. All are welcome to attend.
The group been meeting regularly, with local efforts being coordinated by Steve & Christine Whittington, and Michelle White who advocate that a dog park would provide a place for dogs to run free for needed exercise. It would be a place where dogs and their people could mingle and socialize in friendly ways on neutral ground. For more specific details of the committee’s progress and how you can join their efforts, contact the group at: email@example.com.
