The lakes are full and the stream are still flowing in and around Leadville and Lake County. Here’s Tim Hill with Colorado Fly Fishing Guides located in downtown Leadville, with the latest conditions for fishing – enjoy!

FlyFishinUpper Arkansas River (Between Leadville and Buena Vista) – Flows on the upper river are favorable for the walk/wade angler.  There is still mayfly, caddis and sally presence in the meadows.  Hopper/Attractor with a dropper are also taking fish throughout the upper corridor.  Nymphing is appropriate when the areas higher in the water column are slow.

The effects of the restoration on the Lake Fork vary from day to day, but for the most part have diminished.  The work as of late has not seemed to have much of an impact on the fishing, although it can cause some staining in the afternoons in the Trust, Reddy and Hayden Meadows – just depends on the day.
