Phyllis Hakala Tour Takes Fall Colors Ride on MBT

Last Saturday, Sept. 19 the Phyllis Hakala tour was held on the Mineral Belt Trail in Leadville to take in the fall colors! This special once-a-year, motorized tour is open to those individuals who do not wish to - or cannot due to mobility issues - walk or bike the trail.There were 64 people on the tour. Looks like everyone had a great time!

What kid doesn’t like airplanes? In fact, most young people would love to have the opportunity to check out these marvelous flying machines up close, maybe step into the cockpit and check out the instrument panel.Fall_pancake

Well this Saturday, kids young and old, will have the chance to do just that at the Leadville/Lake County Airport’s  7th Annual Fall Colors Fly-In/Drive-In Pancake Breakfast.

On Saturday, Sep. 26 from 8 – 11 a.m. over 100 planes from around the region, will be flying into the local airport for a good breakfast , fabulous fall colors and the love of aircrafts.

In additional to a variety of aircrafts, the crew from the Lake County Public Works Department will join the airport staff in serving up a hearty breakfast for $6/per person. If you haven’t been up to the Leadville-Lake County Airport in a while, this is a great morning to head up and check out all the incredible improvements going on at this county facility; you won’t be disappointed.A_Spacer_Thin

County Hosts Meet/Greet for Administrator Candidates 

MeetGreetCountyLake County is hosting a public reception to introduce the 3 final applicants for the new Director of Administration position. 

The Meet & Greet will be held at the Lake County Library at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25.  The Director of Administration will be an important position within Lake County government, and the public is invited to come and get to know these candidates before the final selection is made.
