Leadville Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair This Weekend
By Sue Jewell, Leadville Arts Coalition
The Leadville Arts Coalition (LAC) proudly presents its annual Holiday Arts & Crafts Fair, opening tomorrow Friday, Nov. 20, from 4 – 8 p.m. The show continues on Saturday, Nov.21 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. The event returns to Leadville’s Colorado Mountain College, in the Climax Molybdenum Leadership Center.
This year’s fair features many favorite vendors, as well as some new local and regional talent. Everything from handcrafted items to breakfast burritos will be available for sale. Wall art, quilts, body products, honey, jewelry, soy candles, even camel wool and milk products: the list of homemade goodies continues to grow. The fair gives vendors an opportunity to showcase their talents and shoppers a chance to bring home unique gifts.
The Holiday Arts and Crafts fair is the annual fundraiser for the Leadville Arts Coalition, which works to promote the arts in Leadville/Lake County.
This year LAC facilitated the West 5th Street geological tile mural that brought dozens of people together to create this unique public art project.
The group donated money to the fall Lake County High School drama production: “Beauty and the Beast.” In October, LAC in partnership with Harperrose Studios, Gallery and Goods hosted Meet the Artist, featuring Leadville icon Ted Mullings. Looking ahead, the arts advocacy group will be installing a skijoring mural by Lexie Palmore at the corner of West 6th and historic Harrison Avenue.
LAC offers Individual, Household and Business level memberships. Contact email@example.com for membership information. The LAC board of directors meets monthly and all are welcome.
