Santa, Mrs. Claus Visiting with Kids, Appearing Today!
Santa and Mrs. Claus have been making the rounds in Leadville, listening to children’s Christmas wish lists and distributing some special presents. Today, December 19 Santa, Mrs. Claus, and a Reindeer will be at Ski Cooper, Leadville’s ski area located north of town from 12-2 p.m. And Pssst, if you parents time it right, you can treat yourself to some LIVE MUSIC afterward at Cooper’s Katie O’Rourke’s Pub, featuring Todd Johnson at from 3-5 p.m!

Christmas Tree Permits Available til Thursday, Dec. 24
The Leadville Ranger District continues selling Christmas tree permits in Leadville through December 24, 2015. Permits from the U.S. Forest Service, San Isabel National Forest are $10 each with a limit of two trees per household.
Permits can be purchased with cash, personal check, or money order made payable to the “U.S. Forest Service” at the Leadville Ranger District Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Note offices may close early on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, so plan ahead! Leadville Ranger District Office is located at 810 Front Street, Leadville, CO 80461.
All fourth graders are still eligible for a free Christmas tree permit through the new initiative Every Kid in a Park (“Every Kid”). In support of this initiative, the Forest Service will make available a free holiday tree permit to every interested fourth-grader with a 4th Grade Pass or paper voucher.
In order for students to receive a free tree permit, they must present a valid paper voucher printed from the Every Kid in a Park website.
