The Leadville Workforce Center is hosting a FREE WEBINAR for employers: Tax Credits You’re Not Using. Next Wednesday, Feb. 24 , from 11:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. join the group to learn about the NEW CHANGES to the Work Opportunity Tax Credits and how you can maximize your business tax credits and reduce employer federal tax liability by as much as $2,400 to $9,600 per new hire.
Attendees need to register before Tuesday, Feb. 23 by emailing or calling the Leadville Workforce Center at email@example.com 719-486-2428. Registrants will receive detailed instructions about accessing the webinar via e-mail prior to the event.
Law Enforcement Training; Courthouse Closed Feb 24

Law Enforcement and emergency responders in Lake County continue to train regularly to ensure quick, efficient, and appropriate response in the event of a real emergency.
On February 10 all emergency responder agencies held an exercise to practice our response to a pandemic. This exercise included Public Health, Human Services, Lake County Sheriff deputies, Leadville Police officers, Leadville/Lake County Fire Rescue, St. Vincent Hospital, St. Vincent Ambulance Service, Sol Vista, and the Office of Emergency Management.
The next exercise will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 24 in the Lake County County Courthouse building. As such, this building will be closed at 3 p.m. to accommodate this exercise. Please ensure any business you need to take care of that day is complete by 3 p.m.
Hospital Board Seats Open, Deadline Feb. 26
St. Vincent General Hospital District Board of Directors has two seats (4 year terms) open for re-election, with the election to be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.
Self-Nomination and Acceptance forms are available from Jennifer Robbins, the Designated Election Official for the District, at 822 W. 4th Street, Leadville, Colorado 80461. Self-Nomination and Acceptance forms must be filed with the Designated Election Official for the District at the above address not less than 67 days prior to the election (Friday, February 26, 2016).
