12th Annual Cloud City Rail Jam on Saturday
Spring is in the air, and so are Leadville rail jam competitors practicing their grabs, spins, and jibs for this year’s rail jam! The 12th Annual Cloud City Rail Jam will be held in the Backyard Terrain Park at Colorado Mountain College – Leadville this Saturday, March 26.
This is an all-ages event with separate competitions for men, women, and children. Awards go to the best overall male and female competitor in each discipline – skiing and snowboarding. As the event approaches, more prizes and swag are being added daily.
The annual rail jam at Colorado Mountain College in Leadville is put on entirely by the Ski Area Operations, Event Management class. These students are responsible for each and every detail of the event, from building and testing the features to obtaining sponsorships, prizes and event promotions.
“The most rewarding aspect of this has been our ability to work as a team towards a professional final product we are all so passionate about,” said Ski Area Operations student Cormac Cordery-Cotter who is excited to present The Cloud City Rail Jam as their final project on March 26.
This is an all ages, dog friendly event and is open to the public. There will be live music provided by Mastodon Sound, food and beverages available for purchase, and swag goody bags for spectators. Registration will be open from 10 – 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 26 and the entry fee for competitors is $10.
And please – don’t forget your helmets, they’re required for participation. For more information please visit the Facebook Event Page or contact Jason Gusaas, Instructor of Ski Area Operations email@example.com. 719-486-4229
