Bon Appetite – It’s Time for the Eateries to Meet!
Order up! It’s time for the 3rd Annual Lake County Retail Food Meeting. This annual meeting is presented by Jackie Littlepage, Director of Environmental Health/Health Inspector at the Lake County Public Health Agency (LCPHA) and will be held Monday, April 18 from 10 – 11 a.m. at Colorado Mountain College in the Climax building, Rm 401.
“This year we are focusing on fire safety with a fire extinguisher demonstration conducted by our Leadville/Lake County Fire Rescue,” stated Littlepage. As part of her job, Littlepage executes state-regulated health inspections for all food establishments in Lake County.
In addition, the gathering will focus on the top county wide violation: Pest Management. An Orkin representative will be in attendance to discuss pest management tips. A new annual report card for eating establishments will be mailed out with food retail license renewals in the fall.
All Leadville and Lake County food establishments are encouraged to attend. The meeting is also open to the general public where they can celebrate the recipient of the 2015 Excellence in Food Safety Awards. Please RSVP with the number of employees representing your establishment.
RSVPs and questions can be directed to Jackie Littlepage 719-486-7481 or 719-427-0179 or by email: firstname.lastname@example.org

And speaking of food . . .if you’re looking for a new place to get your Sunday breakfast on, the Pastime Bar & Café has added Sunday breakfasts to their lineup. The new early morning menu includes such notables as the Easy Street, Billy The Kid and Wyatt Earp, all of which contain the usual breakfast fare.
However, it’s their Red Light Special Bloody that will have folks talking. Take one of those famous Pastime Bloody Marys and dress it up with some bacon, biscuits or your choice of several items. It’s a masterpiece of culinary art with a kick and some tasty treats! Check it out yourself 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. breakfast at the Pastime located at 120 W. 2nd Street in Leadville’s former Red Light District. Of course they’ll still be serving up that delicious new BBQ for lunch and dinner Tuesday thru Sunday. And they now except credit and debit cards.
