Live Music This Weekend in Downtown Lead Vegas
The hills will be alive with music this weekend in Leadville, so be sure to support the local music scene and the businesses that keep the song in the heart of Leadville Today.
Here’s the Lead Vegas report to let you know where you should be, and when. Start off your rockin’ Christmas season in America’s Highest City:
Saturday, December 10
Tis the Season for Ugly Christmas Sweater fun! This Saturday, Dec. 10 Periodic Brewing invites beer-lovers to “don their gay apparel” and enjoy $2 off your first pint at Periodic’s Ugly Sweater party when you bring us a minimum of 3 non-perishable food items to donate to Leadville’s local food banks. Join the fun for an evening of Ugly Sweater Holiday fun to help feed hungry families this season.
Please bring in food items – dry pasta, peanut butter, and canned foods – and wear your best ugly sweater for contest prizes. May your sweaters be ugly and bright!
Katie O’Rourke’sPub at Ski Cooper
The snow has arrived and the skiing and boarding season is underway at Ski Cooper, Leadville’s ski hill! And so is the live music season as musician Todd Johnson will be playing Après Ski from 3 – 5 p.m. at Katie O’Rourke’s Pub for Ski Cooper’s Opening Day on Saturday, Dec. 10. After a great first day on the slopes, come and hear “a bluesy combination of modern and classic folk rock, reggae, including the country classics everyone knows and loves.” Johnson’s style blends all of these with his own personal infusion to each and every audience. Enjoy a Apres Ski beverage at Katie’s and relax with a wonderful mix of tunes!
The Scarlet Bar
Once the sun sets on historic Harrison Avenue, the fun meters goes up on good old Lead Vegas. That’s right the neon lights shine bright on Leadville’s main drag, especially on the corner of E. 4th Street. Saturday night, The Scarlet Bar will host Backyard Berserker from the pass in Alma. So if you’re looking for some of the “biggest, tastiest jams and psychedelic sounds,” you’ll find it here starting at 10 p.m.
Pastime Bar & Café
If country rock is more your game, then head on down to Leadville’s historic Red Light District on 2nd Street. Starting at 9 p.m. award-winning singer Brian Grace will be playing his own songs from country rock, to the blues and some older country.
Sunday, December 11
If you’re looking for a great way to wind down a day on the slopes or in the downtown shops, then head over to Periodic Brewing. Antonio Lopez will be playing from 2 – 5 p.m. in the brewery. He plays the 2nd Sunday of every month. Good music + good beer = good times.
