Important Meetings: The Law, The Wall, The Interview

There are a number of important meetings coming up that Leadvilleites should mark on the calendar.

One week from today, Monday, Oct. 16, Lake County residents will have a chance to weigh in on law enforcement efforts and issues. The Town Hall Meeting will be held from 7 – 9 p.m. in the Lake County High School cafeteria. This is an opportunity for people to ask questions and/or voice concerns.

Lake County Sheriff Rodney Fenske, Leadville Police Chief Robert Glenny and 5th Judicial District Attorney Bruce Brown will be in attendance and available for discussing law enforcement related issues. Turquoise Lake Outing Ends in Death

Here is the official Lake County Sheriff’s report concerning the dirt bike fatality which occurred out at Turquoise Lake on September 30, 2017. P&Z Hearing for Railyard on Wednesday

Another meeting of interest for those wanting to provide input regarding the new development: Railyard @ Leadville should plan on attending this Wednesday’s City Of Leadville Planning & Zoning Commission & City Council Public Hearing.

The Phase I Public Hearing for the Railyards @ Leadville development (aka, We ♥ Leadville property) will be this Wednesday, October 11.

The hearing takes place in City Council Chambers at City Hall in downtown Leadville starting at 6 p.m. this Wednesday, Oct. 11. The agenda indicates that the meeting will primarily focus on the “Railyards at Leadville Planned Unit Development Phase 1 Public Hearing.”

Hone Your Job Interview Skills

Are you job hunting? There’s all kinds of FREE help available in October for Lake County employees looking for work. This Tuesday, readers are reminded that the Leadville Workforce Center in Leadville continues with their FREE Job Seekers Workshops. On October 10, the discussion will focus on “Interview Secrets.” So if you’re in the market for a job and want to give yourself that extra edge during the interview process, then plan to connect on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. All workshops last 30-45 minutes.

Workforce October 2017You can participate from your smart device, PC or in person at one of the Workforce Centers. The Lake County Public Library also offers a WORKFORCE LAPTOP for persons looking for employment or filing for unemployment. This system is dedicated to help job seekers.
