Leadville Racing Shines at Chalk Creek Stampede

On October 7, the Leadville Racing High School Mountain Bike Team headed south to the McMurry Ranch in Nathop, Colo. for the last regular season race before the State Championships. The team continued to improve with each rider having personal bests.

The Leadville Racing High School Mountain Bike Team shows off their new Melanzana hoodies!

The day started with Senior and varsity rider Caroline Benney continuing to climb up in the standings with a solid 8th place finish, her performance was followed by girls JV riders Maja Tingstedt , going from 37th at Granby up to 28th, she was followed by Stephanie Reveles with her best finish 35th.

Senior and varsity boy’s rider Brian Reveles climbed up 2 spots to 17th in the extremely fast and competitive boy’s varsity field. Sophomore boy’s rider Matt Koch had the best race of his young career. He went from 44th to 27th to help cap off the best day of racing this season for the team.

As for the team they improved from 9th up to 8th place overall out of 31 teams. Congratulations to all five riders for qualifying for states in two weeks in Eagle, Colorado!!
