FREE Legal Resource Days on Thursday in Breck

Do you or someone you know have questions about estate planning, divorce cases, appeals or adoptions? Wondering how to seal your case, collect on a legal judgment or just navigate legal processes? The Colorado Judicial Department is providing FREE Legal Resource Days in 12 locations around the state in October 2017, with the closest for locals coming up this Thursday, Oct. 26.

Colorado Supreme Court Justice Nancy Rice addresses Lake County officials.

“Events like these help people representing themselves come to the courtroom prepared to work with judges and court staff to move their cases along,” Colorado Supreme Court Chief Justice Nancy E. Rice said. “That also helps the courts to efficiently handle all of their business. I hope many people take advantage of these valuable learning opportunities.”

Recognizing that an increasing number of Coloradans each year choose to represent themselves in legal matters that can be intimidating and overwhelming without an attorney’s help, the Judicial Department remains committed to providing self-represented litigants the information and education they need to be prepared to appear before a judge.

Legal Resource Day is one way the Colorado Judicial Department provides that assistance. Volunteer lawyers and others will teach sessions Oct. 25-27 in Breckenridge, Brighton, Centennial, Cortez, Durango, Fort Collins, Glenwood Springs, Grand Junction, Greeley, Montrose, Pueblo, and Sterling.
