Alpine Orchestra Returns to Leadville on Friday
The Alpine Orchestra’s annual fall concert returns this Friday, Nov. 10 to the Lake County High School Auditorium. As the first stop on their fall concert series, “Mostly Mozart,” the Alpine Orchestra will kick off the season at 7:30 p.m.
Mozart favorites will top the bill on Friday with “Overture to the Magic Flute” and the “Bassoon Concerto,” among others. Orchestra member, Michele White will perform on the bassoon. She has performed with many orchestras throughout the United States, including New York City. Also, for variety, the orchestra will perform the “Hansel and Gretel Prelude” by Humperdink and “Romeo and Juliet” by Tchaikowsky. And there may be a surprise as well!
The Alpine Orchestra has been serving and performing for the upper Arkansas Valley for 24 years. Conducted by Beth Steele in her third year, this concert is offered free of charge to families of all size and age, with donations happily accepted to help defray expense.
The fall series continues in Salida at the SteamPlant Theater, November 11, and in Buena Vista at Clear View Community Church, November 12. For more about The Alpine Orchestra, visit their website or facebook page.
